2026 Reading Plan
Fun fact - an adult pileated woodpecker can drop an average sized tree in a week. Iโ€™ve seen them debark cedars but never bore holes of this size! #birdsoftexas #backyardbirds Book mail is the best mail! This weekโ€™s book delivery is too pretty to only post the cover. #2026reading #books #reading #personalscholar My March book stack. A few I didn't get to start in February, a few new ones I'm reading in Science Book Club, and Braiding Sweetgrass is my audiobook nonfiction for the month. #2026readingplan #books #reading #personalscholarship #nonfiction I adore vultures. And I love watching them ride the thermals. #texas #vultures #birdwatching Book mail is the best mail! University of Utopia is from Robert Maynard Hutchins (University of Chicago chancellor and editor in chief of the Great Books project). Lucretius and the Bat with the Blue Eyes came across my feed earlier this week (MIT Press, exploring Lucretiusโ€™ attempt to explain atomic theory), and Ultraprocessed Foods is a new title from Dr. Michel Greger (author of How Not to Die). #2026reading #bookstagram #nonfiction #personalscholarship See how I am using Notion as Second Brain, enhancing my knowledge work. #secondbrain #notion #personalscholarship #knowledgework Forgot to share the book I picked up this week at @paintedporchbookshop - I love epistolary novels, and this one shows the relationship between two German friends, a Jewish man living in San Francisco and a former business partner who has moved back to Germany in 1932. Through their exchanged letters the reader sees the spread of Nazism and extremism through the relationships of common folk who are in the midst of it. A timely read! #2026reading #books #bookstagram #personalscholarship Stopped in Bastrop on the way back from our quarterly trip to Texas Childrenโ€™s in Austin, so we could check out The Painted Porch bookstore. This is Ryan Holidayโ€™s shop, and itโ€™s awesome. There are even bookshop cats lounging around! #thepaintedporch #bookstores My February reading list!
